How many sessions do you recommend?Making changes to any movement pattern takes time and repetition. If you are unsure of the value that WinnPro treadmill training can provide, start by purchasing a single session to view the experience. We recommend starting with a 6 pack of sessions to give the athlete a chance to learn about the fundamentals of efficient and powerful skating and to identify their largest areas for improvement. Every athlete is different and will retain and apply learned concepts at different speeds. It is always our goal to influence the greatest amount of positive change in the shortest time frame possible.

Is it okay to wear my game skates?Yes! It is strongly recommended that players skate in their actual game skates to develop proper feel. The treadmill will not damage player skates.
-
How often do I need to sharpen my skates after using the treadmill?Depending on the frequency of use, the Treadmill will dull the skate blades 1.5 to 2 times faster than on the ice. It is recommended that players sharpen their skates after use if going back to an on-ice game.
-
How does the treadmill compare to real ice?Skating on the treadmill will feel awkward at first until the skater gets a feel for working against resistance. Once the skater understands how hard or fast they need to push to match the resistance of the machine, skating starts to feel more normal. The transition from treadmill back to the ice is always a great feeling because the resistance factor is removed and improvements to balance and technique make skating on ice far easier.
-
What happens if a player falls on the treadmill? All skaters wear a safety harness that will prevent them from touching the skating surface if they fall. The harness system also includes an automatic, pressure sensed shutoff that will stop the treadmill from moving as quickly as possible when triggered.
